Location: Kenyatta Avenue , Uhuru Highway roundabout next to Nyayo house.

The Nairobi Gallery... This one was for the art and for the culture, a place where art meets history. It is a small magnificent space filled with beauty from the moment you set foot inside with displays of art and representations from different artists like Francis Nnagenda and an amazing collection from Joseph Murumbi different jewellery from across Africa made from different materials like cowrie shells and ofcourse cultural representation from our beautiful African tribes. This gallery was one for the books.
I loved seeing how different tribes across Africa wore and still wear their jewellery each one having their own unique style and giving a unique identity to the people adorning it.

The fashion sense of our people on the other hand has always been impeccable .Colourful printed fabrics at the gallery definitely made me feel like setting up an African themed party.

Apart from the fabric there were different masks and head gears worn by different tribes. The Maasais for instance had rites of passages and after their successful completion, ladies wore head gears made from ostrich feathers while their male counterparts wore ones made from lions mane.

Art has always been a way for many to represent what they see and what they feel it was amazing seeing artists being recognised and appreciated for their work.
